Paramore (and Fueled By Ramen) are being sued for stealing another band’s song.
This band, Tenspoke Indies, is suing Paramore for copyright infringement because they claim that parts of their song “Starlighter” are in Paramore’s song “The Only Exception”.
They wrote & recorded the song in 2006, sent a copy to Fueled By Ramen and three years later, Paramore released Brand New Eyes, featuring “The Only Exception”.
Tenspoke claims that there is substantial similarity between “Starlighter” and “The Only Exception” including but not limited to, similarities in the introductions, arrangements, the chord progression, the key, the melody, the lyrical theme, the rhythm and tempo of both songs.
Tenspoke Indies wants at least $75,000 plus other things.
